Q. How do I access Australian Standards?

Access to Standards for Cairns & Hinterland Hospital & Health Services staff is managed by Cairns Hospital Library & Knowledge Centre (LKC). Access is provided via a subscription to Engineering Workbench.

For CHHHS staff who require regular and ongoing access to Australian Standards, contact the LKC for further information on registering for an account with Engineering Workbench. Please do not share your personal login details with your colleagues. Ask them to contact the LKC for information if they require direct access.

If you require one-off access to a particular standard, please contact the LKC and in most cases a PDF can be provided to you. Please provide comprehensive details of the standard; standard number, title and year of publication.

If you have a PDF from Engineering Workbench, please note the following. Digital Rights Management (DRM) is applied to files from Engineering Workbench. Please ensure that you have FileOpen installed on your computer, and open the file in Acrobat Reader (not a browser). FileOpen is available from the Software Centre.

If you need access to a standard that requires payment, you will need to process the payment. Contact the LKC for further help.

• We always need specific information - title, date and  standard number
• You can request LKC to print required standards.
• Print copies are uncontrolled copies; always refer to the latest online version
• Login details for our previous subscription to TechStreet Enterprise or Standards Australia are no longer valid.
