CHHHS & TCHHS, QAS staff and students on placement at Cairns Hospital can register for borrowing with LKC.

You must be registered to borrow.

Loans are generally 3 weeks, unless otherwise stated on the item. Some high demand items may be 7 day loans; some manuals are 4 week loans.

Renewals are possible as long as no-one else has placed a hold on the item. You can login to your account via the online catalogue, or use the self-checkout kiosk in the library to manage your loans.

If you lose or do not return Library resources, you will be invoiced. Reminders for loans are automatically sent to your preferred email address.

If you have items overdue at 3rd notice, you are suspended from borrowing and after hours access is revoked.

After hours access is only available to CHHHS staff and JCU medical students based at Cairns Hospital. Registration is mandatory for AH access.

If you are located at rural or regional health units:

  • we can post books / resources to your work location
  • if you need assistance with returning then to LKC, contact us for options

If you are studying, contact your university library first. LKC is not obliged to provide you with core study texts.
