Cairns Hospital Library & Knowledge Centre (LKC) services are available to employees of the Cairns & Hinterland or Torres & Cape Hospital & Health Services, and Queensland Ambulance Service.

James Cook University (JCU) 4th, 5th & 6th year medical students based at Cairns Hospital are entitled to access LKC services. JCU nursing and other health disciplines, 3rd year and above only, can apply to LKC.

Health discipline students from other universities, including nursing and allied health, on placement at the Cairns Hospital are able to register for borrowing with the LKC - for the period of their placement only.

Note: There are restrictions on services offered to students on placement.

Other university students, not listed above, do not have access to LKC services.

Your university library should provide access to the resources and textbooks you require for your study.

Check your uni handbooks or library websites for further access. See links below for further information.

If you have difficulties sourcing your text books, try asking your local public library for further assistance. However, interlibrary loan charges may apply.
