The LKC does not hold specific information suitable for patients. Health service staff looking for information to give to patients can check the following resources.

Clinical Knowledge Network (CKN) for HHS Staff

A number of CKN products contain patient information. Off site CKN access is required if viewing from outside of QH network. Go to CKN and the Point of Care page to view following products:

  • BMJ Best Practice - click on Patient leaflets at top of site
  • ClinicalKey Australia - click on Patient Education menu item at top or search topics
  • ClinicalKey for Nursing - click on Patient Education menu item at top or search topics
  • DYNAMED - search for topic, then check for patient information link
  • Isabel - search for topic, then check for patient information section
  • eviQ (for cancer treatments) - click on Patients and carers in the top menu
  • Lab Tests Online-Au (Pathology tests explained) - click on Quick Read Information Sheets
  • Queensland Paediatric Emergency Care - click on Parent Information

Free, online public resources

A number of consumer and patient health information resources are available freely via the internet. Go to our Public Resources page to find out more.

LKC publishes a number of specialty guides, many of which have a page dedicated to information for consumers or patients.
