Queensland Health EndNote version X6 will not work with Windows 7. Network administration rights are required to enable a macro and Cite While You Write does not work.
EndNote X7 is now available via the QH apps store (find the Apps Store icon on the desktop of any QH computer). Staff are able to install this program themselves. A full procedure is available.
We recommend that you back up or make a copy of your EndNote X6 library before upgrading to X7.
In order to use EndNote X7 with Windows 7, you will need Microsoft Office 2010 in order to use Cite While You Write (CWYW) functionality. Macros in Word 2003 and Windows 7 on QH computers have been disabled; macros are required to use the CWYW features.
To obtain Microsoft Office 2010, make a request via eHealth Queensland Online IT Support. eHealth Queensland (formerly HSIA) will then forward you a “non-standard software request” form, which will need to be completed and approved by a high level delegate (eg CFO or ED).
